Climate Conference inspires a song
November 15, 2007
Popular musician and entertainer Nugie, has had a long involvement in promoting environmental issues in his home country of Indonesia. After a recent meeting with Oxfam staff about the current and potential impacts of climate change on people living in poverty, Nugie wrote and recorded the song “World, Let’s Share Together” to raise the profile of Climate Change, in the lead-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia in December.
Not satisfied with recording the song by himself, Nugie, has gathered more than 60 top Indonesian musicians and singers, to take part in a new version and video of “World, Lets Share Together”. Please listen to Nugie’s amazing song and read the English tranlsation below.
- Listen to Nugie’s original version in Indonesian of “World, Let’s Share Together” as a MP3
- Listen to the new version of ” World, Lets Share Together”, by Indonesia’s leading singers and musicians as an MP3
We are proud to work with Nugie on this great song and can’t wait to see the finished video.
World, Let’s Share Together
Look around you, water is fading to nowhere
Does it move your heart?
Look around you, empty eyes of hunger
Does it touch your soul?
While we are here, too greedy to consume without knowing the limit
Look around you, green forest is turning into desert
Does it touch your heart?
Look around you, they shattered to survive
Does it pound your heart?
While we have everything here,
Can we survive if we start act now
Share with the burning Earth, Earth Need us
Share with the Earth Every little thing will be felt
Share with the world
Open your eyes and heart to share
Let’s share
Reach your hands, never doubt my friend
the world is calling for us to act for Our Earth
For the sake of life we live once, for our one Earth

I admire musicians, artists who touch upon ecological problems in their creative work. In this way more people can get concerned about environmental state.
